Cutchi Economic Council (CEC)


CEC was initiated by the managing committee members of SCLP Samaj in early 2015. It is therefore the youngest sub-committee.

Vision
The vision of CEC is to improve the economic status of members of SCLP Samaj.

Mission
To create awareness of opportunities, carry out training forums, business networking forums, circulate job opportunities and facilitate venture capital system within our community members.

Aims and Objectives of the sub committee

  1. To promote the vision of Shree Cutchhi Leva Patel Samaj, Nairobi.
  2. To continuously train and develop skills and knowledge on self development and business acumen.
  3. To gather and share any leads on employment opportunities among our community members.
  4. To facilitate and arrange for business forums and exhibitions.
  5. To facilitate venture capital activity among our community members.
  6. To create and maintain an index that can be used as guidance and benchmark for economic status of the members and community.

Current Achievements

  • Job Opportunities
    We have started using facebook social media to allow all our members to advertise any job opportunities available to our community members. We believe this will link up prospective employers to available candidates from our community.
  • Seminars/Trainings
    We have organised seminars on the Itax, CV Writing and as we move on, more such seminars to enlighten our community members on various business and self-development related topics.
  • Venture Capitalism/Projects
    We have created a platform where a prospective candidate with ideas, ability and capability are be able to present his/her project to prospective financiers.
  • Cottage Industries
    We arrange exhibitions for our community ladies where they can show case various activities that they can offer to prospective customers. This include: making of various snacks, services of food grain sourcing and preparation for storage, tailoring, baby sitting etc.
  • Directory
    We have worked towards forming a business directory of our community members.
  • External Exhibitions
    We look out and get best deals possible to various external exhibitions like Cebit, Gitex, Canton, Fespa etc whereby in addition to discounts, we can also be able to organise food and residences as per our requirements.
  • Exhibition
    We arrange for exhibitions which expose our community business persons to exhibit their products and services to others.
